Movement Human Awareness
Helping people thrive through movement and awareness.
Our Work Will
It’s not enough to “go through the movements” when it comes to healing from injuries and increasing physical capacities. To truly control “self” and improve physical capacities, we must enhance our internal and external feedback systems. Because our brain thrives on feedback, in order to get our brain the most valuable information possible, we use a systems based approach to movement and motor learning that gets at the root cause of pain to facilitate the best outcomes possible.
- Improve Joint Health.
- Increase Awareness.
- Expand Physical Capacities.
- Improve Existing Capacities.
- Mitigate Risk of Injuries.
- Improve Nervous System Function.
- Improve Sensations of Pain.
- Decrease Inflammation.
- Influence Cellular Tissue Growth.
- Alter Your Perception of Movement.

How We Do It
We utilize a scientific based system of assessment and objective outcome measures to increase physical capacities, diminish pain and improve neurological performance and health.

Accurate Assessment is Key
Without an objective assessment of the individual in front of us, based on the needs of that particular person, it would be impossible to have an optimal outcome. A proper assessment and an objective outcome measure is essential in order to analyze progress and ensure that time spent on treatment and training are fully utilized. Whether we’re working with an injury, chronic pain or optimizing athletic performance it is imperative that we have tangible outcome measures that we can sue to track progress and alter when necessary.

Increasing Physical Capacities
Regardless of the demands placed on our bodies each and every day, we all need to have a base level of physical ability and may need to increase specific capacities to make our lives easier. You may be planting trees, carrying groceries, running an ultra-marathon or climbing Everest and for each one you will need very specific physical capacities. Our goal is to help you determine which capacities you need to increase, based on an in depth assessment, and create a plan of action that will get you there in the most direct way possible.

Manual Therapy
Manual or massage therapy for soft tissue may include work on muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments, connective tissue, and more. Our detailed, objective assessment will determine where, when and how much manual therapy should be used to optimize outcomes. Because of the nature of the science based system we use, we can accurately determine, through hands on assessment, which tissues will respond best to which intervention. In the science based world of manual therapy, random pressing or rubbing on painful spots will lead to random results.
Who We Are
Ben & Hilly are both manual (LMT) therapists and movement specialists who have studied and trained with some of the world’s best practitioners.
More than two decades of combined professional experience has allowed us to develop our skills so that we can serve a wide variety of athletes and general movers alike. Even though we’ve been immersed in movement our entire lives, and have actively studied movement for decades, we have both experienced major injuries, pain and setbacks as a part of life. It is because of these experiences that we have examined the best practices to both help ourselves live happy, healthy, movement filled lives and improve the lives of our clients.

Who Our Clients Are

Athletics and Human Performance
Some of us want to live an extremely active life, participate in professional, amateur or recreational sports and with these demands, comes more responsibility to maintain a healthy body, recover from injuries or squeeze out that little bit of extra performance to gain a competitive edge. High performance comes at a cost and we offer manual therapy and mobility training to help mitigate the risk of injuries, enhance performance and improve longevity.

Pain Limitations
Getting injured is part of being human but that doesn’t mean that you are destined to a life of inactivity or worse, chronic pain. Chronic pain and injuries can turn into serious movement problems if not properly addressed. We use the latest science based systems to provide the most accurate and efficient hands on therapy and movement training to help you heal and live pain free.

General Physical Preparedness
Modern life is in some ways harder and easier than nature intended it to be. Because of this, we may not have been adapting our bodies in the most ideal ways and now we must re-establish a new base line, that we call General Physical Preparedness. Add on top of that any injuries or natural limitations you may have and there may be some specific work to get you back to the movements you love.

Remote Training
Despite what the news says lately, not everyone has moved to Austin yet. In all seriousness though, we work with clients that live all over the world to create movement, breathing and meditation programs to meet the demands of their life. It’s also common practice for people visiting Austin to book with us while they’re here, continue their training at home and seeing us when in town again.
